Amy Cole

Amy Cole (they/she) was born in California and during their youth lived in Colorado and Texas. Studying theater in undergrad led Amy to work in Massachusetts, California, and at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, where they met their partner Andrew “Metz” Metzroth. Amy has lived consistently in Colorado since 2007. Since then, they have worked at the National Theater Conservatory, Stories on Stage, a toxicology lab, and currently the University of Colorado Boulder, where she works in Student Affairs Finance as the Division Cash Manager. Amy is not only a staff member at CU Boulder, they are an alumni, having earned an MBA in 2012, a step that was critical in honing their passion for accounting and analytics.

At the age of five, Amy was dedicated at the First Universalist Church of Denver and has been a lifelong UU ever since. In high school, she was the youth board member at the Henry David Thoreau Congregation of Fort Bend County. She started attending BVUUF regularly in 2015 and has been an active member of Wise Women.

Amy and Metz’s child is Lavender. Both Amy and Lavender greatly enjoy dancing — observing and participating; the two love many different styles but particularly enjoy modern and aerial. In her own time, Amy greatly enjoys gardening, crochet, and reading.
