Members covenant with one another to share our time, talents, and treasure to build a community of depth, integrity, and compassion and to work together for justice and equity. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to come regularly to Sunday services and participate in a variety of activities to get to know us.
A good next step is to attend the Sunday Inquirer’s Series. This series of conversations is designed for you to drop in at any time – attend sessions relevant to you or pick them up in future rounds of the series. All sessions meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary on Sundays.
The last session in the series is a Path to Membership class. In this class, you will learn about what it means to be a member of the Fellowship and consider whether joining is right for you. This class is required before you become a member.
The Inquirer’s Series runs twice annually, in the spring and the fall. If there are no upcoming events, you can find out when the next session will start by contacting our Office Manager.
When our founding members first gathered to create a new congregation in 1979, they signed a membership book, putting their commitment to one another and this congregation in writing. Once you are ready to join as a member, you will be asked to sign the same membership book, and make a financial pledge of any amount you can afford to the congregation. Several times a year, we have a special moment in our Sunday service where we welcome new members.
If you are interested in learning more about us or would like to have someone contact you regarding membership, please email the Fellowship office at officemanager@bvuuf.org. We will be happy to talk with you.
