The Cost of Remembrance

May 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

What are we truly remembering and what stories have we left untold? This Sunday, Pastor AJ and Paul Gibb invite us to look more deeply into the origins of Memorial Day, once known as Decoration Day, born in the aftermath of the Civil War as a way to honor the dead. Additionally, we will move beyond familiar narratives and ask harder questions about memory, sacrifice, and the lasting impact of war. Together, we will expand our understanding of remembrance not only honoring those who died in battle, but also those who returned carrying wounds unseen and unhealed. We will reflect on the lives shaped and often shortened by trauma, injury, and the quiet, enduring toll of war on body and spirit.
