It’s easy to come away with a singular interpretation of an experience, a headline, or an action of another person. Singular or fixed conclusions often shut us out of alternative explanations or analyses. The Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie cautions us about the danger of a single story. Much more life-giving is the capacity to cultivate paradox, the possibility that opposites may both be true. Nurturing “both/and” rather than “either/or” can expand our capacity for diversity, accountability, and creativity. This service will include a New Member ceremony. Led by Rev. Barbara Coeyman with Service Associate Meri Gibb.
