Here at the start of a new month, we are at a midpoint on the calendar, a liminal space of sorts, halfway through autumn’s fulfillment and harvest to preparing for winter’s increasing darkness and cold. Rituals around the world at this time of the year recognize both joy and loss through honoring of ancestors of the past while also welcoming the young and the new. Today’s Time for All Ages sets the scene for our covenanting ceremony of New Members, as well as our Ritual of Remembrance of departed loved ones. (See more in “Connections” for submitting memorabilia for today’s in-person and online remembrance ceremony.) Service led by Rev. Barbara Coeyman with Service Associate Paul Gibb.
