This question — Is church becoming obsolete? — was asked by Unitarian Rev. Anna Garlin Spencer in a Berry Street Essay in 1929. Garlin answered her own question: the church must change as modern life changes. As prelude to the topic of the Transition Forum today after the service on Ministry Going Forward, let us extend Garlin’s question to consider how professional ministry changes as the role of the church changes. As BVUUF begins the process of ministerial search, what might congregants want to know about UU ministry in 2025? What are the possibilities for Ministry Going Forward? Led by Rev. Barbara Coeyman with Service Associate Paul Gibb.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the Transition Forum after the service, 11:30 – 12:45, in the sanctuary and online.
