Mary Hill

Mary Hill has been a grateful UU since about 1980, starting in Princeton, New Jersey. She has attended fellowships in Lawrence KS and Boulder CO.

Mary became a member of BVUUF four years ago. Looking for service work to help with a period of grief after the passing of her dear husband Jim, Mary first signed up to bring cookies and manage the cameras. When the congregation needed a treasurer she joined a long term member to share that role on the board. She transitioned to the less demanding role of board member and completed her 3 year term in June 2025. She also sang in the choir intermittently. It was exciting to be intimately involved in so many aspects of congregational life.

Mary reduced her role at BVUUF over the last year after retiring from a 44-year professional career in Earth science as a federal employee and then an academic at University of Kansas. In spring 2026 she has been with the RE program three times enjoying our wonderful staff and kids, and singing with the choir. Mary looks forward to talking with folks throughout our wonderfully talented congregation as we plan how to negotiate our future together.

Term ends 6/30/27
